Watermill Trivia: What do corrugated cardboard and Kiss Me, Kate have in common…?
19 August 2019
There aren’t many occasions where the worlds of corrugated cardboard packaging and show-stopping musical theatre collide, but this summer we are thrilled to have partnered with sustainable packaging solutions business Saica Pack, the Principal Sponsor of Kiss Me, Kate.
Saica Pack, a division of international business Saica, have a local depot in Thatcham and develop innovative corrugated packaging solutions which are sustainable and environmentally friendly, using recycled paper as a key raw material.
Kevin Thomas, Vince Couch and Matt Pomorski from Saica Pack joined us on Monday 24 June for the first day of rehearsals. They met the cast and creative team for Kiss Me, Kate and heard some exclusive production insights from the show’s Designer Frankie Bradshaw and Director Paul Hart.
Then at the beginning of August, Matt, Saica Pack Creative Marketing Manager for the UK & Ireland popped into the theatre following a matinée performance to visit the cast and see Frankie’s designs brought to life, ahead of Saica Pack’s sponsorship event in September.
Kevin Thomas, Regional Director South West for Saica Pack said “We are thrilled to be Principal Sponsor of The Watermill’s summer musical Kiss Me, Kate. It has been great to work with the theatre and to be involved in the journey of the show at each stage of its creation.
At Saica Pack we care about the communities where we operate and our sponsorship at The Watermill enables us to support arts and culture opportunities for our local community in Thatcham and Newbury. We are also delighted to be offering a number of complimentary tickets for Kiss Me, Kate to the West Berkshire Young Carers, inviting the young people to take some time away from their caring responsibilities and enjoy the show with a family member or friend during the summer holidays.”
