17 May 2022
There aren’t many occasions where the worlds of corrugated cardboard packaging and show-stopping musical theatre collide but this Spring, The Watermill Theatre is thrilled to have partnered with sustainable packaging solutions business, Saica Pack, who are supporting a brand-new musical, Our Man In Havana, based on the novel by Graham Greene.
Saica Pack, a division of international business Saica, have a local depot in Thatcham and are Principal Sponsor of the theatre’s production which runs until 21 May at the idyllic waterside venue in Bagnor.
Saica Pack develop innovative corrugated packaging solutions which are sustainable and environmentally friendly, using recycled paper as a key raw material. The Watermill aims to involve its sponsors throughout the development of their sponsored production, from the sharing of initial design ideas through to the finished performance: highlighting the impact that their investment has along the way.
Kevin Thomas, Saica Regional Director, South West says “We are delighted to be partnering with The Watermill Theatre as Principal Sponsor of Our Man In Havana and are proud to be associated with a theatre that puts environmental sustainability front and centre. From recycling sets and costumes, installing a ground source heating and cooling system to generating power and cutting down the production of raw paper products by moving to an e-ticket solution, the theatre mirrors Saica’s business values. We are thrilled to be part of the process which has enabled this vibrant new musical to come to life.”
A roller coaster comedy full of colourful characters and uplifting Cuban inspired songs, this new musical adaptation of Graham Greene’s classic novel cleverly satirises the fine line between truth and lies. Tickets from £15 with £10 tickets available for under 30s. Book online at watermill.org.uk or by calling the Box Office on 01635 46044.
