An Annexe for an Acrobat?
23 April 2024
We’re seeking local hosts, to help bring the magic of the circus to our theatre this summer!
Could you be a local host, helping us accommodate an actor or creative team member in your spare room or annexe, to help bring our dazzling production of Barnum to life this summer?
We accommodate many of our freelance staff onsite, but also regularly work with local hosts at certain times of the year when onsite space is limited. With a large cast and creative team due to work on Barnum, we’re now looking to expand our existing group of hosts.
The show will play from 2 July – 8 September, but hosts will need to have full or partial availability between the penultimate week of May and early September and should live within driving distance (maximum 30 minutes’ drive time) of Bagnor. There will be a fee offered. Hosts will also be invited to an open dress rehearsal of the production.
With Barnum set across both the Watermill auditorium and gardens and featuring an ensemble cast of actor-musicians and circus performers, audiences will be immersed in the intoxicating world of the circus as it comes to Bagnor this summer.
Charley Hart (Operations Manager) commented:
“Hosting one of our actors or creative team members reveals a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on The Watermill and the performing arts industry. We are excited to hear from anyone who would like to help us bring the circus to town this summer by becoming a local host – we can’t wait to welcome leading artists from across the UK to Berkshire.”
To express interest and find out more, please contact Emily Beck (Theatre Administrator for The Watermill) via admin@watermill.org.uk or call 01635 45834.
