‘A magical place to work’ Ed MacArthur on returning to The Watermill in Murder For Two
24 January 2019
Ahead of Murder For Two opening next week, we caught up with Ed MacArthur about life on tour and how he feels about returning to The Watermill. Ed plays Officer Marcus Moscowitz.
I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to the Watermill with Murder For Two, where the show originally started. We’ve had the time of our lives so far on tour and can’t wait to share our exceptionally silly madcap musical murder-mystery mayhem with the wonderful Watermill audience again! And the ducks, who’ve been very poor at keeping in touch but who I’m reliably told are delighted to hear we’re coming back.
Jeremy (Legat) and I have now done the show together over 100 times and we still haven’t had a punch up. In fact, I find him funnier than ever, and the show is stronger for us finally being able to get to grips with the complex music and the breakneck pace. We’re also banking on the fact that we’ve been away from the Watermill for long enough that any returning audience members will have forgotten who did the murder! I’m so glad to be back at the Watermill – it’s a magical place to work and surely has the happiest staff in British theatre.
