Day 2 – Big Bagnor Household
7 January 2015
The theatre is now beginning to look like a Scandinavian crime scene, anything that is not removable is bagged up to protect it from dust – (I must say with all the heating off and doors and windows open it is also feeling like it) and the car park looks like we’ve let Time Team run amuck.
Meanwhile, the rear-seating block in the stalls has been lifted for the start of the ducting work. Much to the disgust of Bear (the theatre dog), there was very little edible treasure. However, for the rest of us, we discovered some early 80’s programmes – we then spent a few minutes
playing snap with what position Clare Lindsay (General Manager) was holding on any given production- a pleasant diversion from moving lights. We also have the wrappers to prove a Lion bar was much bigger in those days.
Amazingly, work is carrying on as normal – though for some – things are taking a little longer. The Stage Management team are trying very hard to set up for the rehearsals of The Secret Adversary which starts Monday – being hindered not only by the amount of stuff I have piled at one end of their rehearsal room – but never-ending detective work like: “does anyone have a clue where the tape measures and mark-up tapes are?”
