Life in a Theatre of Dreams
22 March 2016
Playing a key supporting role in Romeo + Juliet, here’s an unusual insight into life on stage…
“So for years and years I supported the great and good (and sometimes the not so good!) – in a bar in Salford near the greatest stadium on earth, Old Trafford “THE THEATRE OF DREAMS”. In those days I was good enough. I was good enough for Sir Matt! I was good enough for Fergie!
But now it’s all media city and I’m far too tatty – far too worn out – far too ‘Clubby’ – Mr Turnbull won’t like that.
So that’s it, the end – left in a shed to rot and fester – with all the history I have and all the life I’ve seen ……
What! There is another “THEATRE OF DREAMS”? And they want me, as I am? They want me to bring the place to life – to create a living experience of a club. Ok, it’s in the South and they may be a bit soft – but hey you at the Capulet’s bar, I’m your bar stool.”
Romeo + Juliet runs until Saturday 2 April. Get closer to the action by booking to sit around the stage in bar style seating.
