What is it like being in the Youth Ensemble?
Bea – The ensemble is very movement-based – we add to the realism of the scenes. I like it because there are fewer lines to learn and I can be more creative with the characters I play. I love working with new people and reconnecting with my friends from previous shows.
Freya – I like being able to explore a variety of characters, including a busy salesperson and a wandering country person.
What have you been doing in rehearsals recently?
Bea – We’ve been rehearsing scenes we have blocked before like the separate train station scenes.
Isobel – The train station scenes are based on how we imagine a person living in the city would walk. We had to think about pace, our body language, and where we were moving within the space.

I love working with new people and reconnecting with my friends from previous shows.

What about rehearsals have you enjoyed so far?
Bea – My favourite thing so far was the first rehearsal. I loved having everyone in the space together and getting a proper feel for the show.
Isobel – That was my favourite part too. Although we were sat down the entire time, actually knowing what the story was about made me really excited for rehearsals.
And, what are you most excited for?
Bea – I'm excited to see the costumes and the set for the piece. I love seeing the play come to life!
Isobel – I am so excited to see the set for the first time! The last few have been so cool so I hope this one lives up to expectations – which it probably will! (Side note – I have seen the model box for the set and can confirm that it definitely will).
