Accessing The Watermill Building
We have ramps around the site allowing easy access to the theatre, the Lily Pond, the Bar and Restaurant, accessible toilets, the gardens, and workshop spaces. Alternatively, handrails are fitted to the three steps leading to the theatre and to the two steps leading to the toilets from the car park entrance.
There is a small lip on the doorway between the Bar and gardens, and between the car park and Studio workshop space. Alternative routes with no lip are available.
Our downstairs auditorium has raked seating. Rows A to D are entirely flat. Rows E to H are stepped, accessed from aisles that are on a gentle slope. Row E has additional leg room. Our upstairs auditorium is accessed by a spiral staircase. The staircase has a handrail on the outer banister. There is no lift. The seating is raked, accessed from aisles that are stepped. Access to rows O and P is via either end of the row.
We can accommodate two people using their wheelchairs per performance downstairs, subject to availability. For wheelchair users who want to transfer, our staff are not trained to lift you into your seat but will do what they can to make your transfer as easy and comfortable as possible, including bringing your wheelchair back in the interval. We also have two wheelchairs of our own on request that can be used for transfers. Please let our box office staff know if we can help you with this to make sure you are seated in the best seats.
Our Front of House staff are on hand to assist anyone, so please let them know how we can help you.
