WATERMILL BOOK CLUB
KENNY LOGAN
Just For Kicks
The Autobiography

Fri 28 Aug 2009

The Watermill Book Club is delighted to present a strictly entertaining tale of rugby, family and the foxtrot from the Scottish rugby legend Kenny Logan.

Kenny Logan’s riveting story is one full of surprises. A Scottish rugby star, with 70 caps for his country, and a club legend at Wasps, winner of three Premiership titles and a glorious Heineken Cup, Kenny could not read or write until he was in his thirties. Born into a farming community in rural Scotland, Kenny struggled at school and only confronted his dyslexia on meeting his wife, Gabby. Further challenges followed as they suffered the lows and eventual success of IVF treatment.

Always entertaining, with a twinkle in his eye, Kenny is not one to wallow in misfortune. Now a national heartthrob, after wowing millions on Strictly Come Dancing, Kenny’s story is one of sporting glory, passion, sincerity, tragedy, and a lot of laughter.

Kenny Logan is Scottish rugby’s most capped winger with 70 caps, and he played in three World Cups and numerous Five and Six Nations campaigns for his country. After winning the Scottish League Championship with his local team, Stirling County, in 1997 he transferred to Wasps where he won three English league titles, two English Cups, a European Challenge Cup and the Heineken Cup. He is now heavily involved in charity work and has recently appeared in the Strictly Come Dancing tour. He lives in Kew with his wife, the sports presenter Gabby Logan, and their twins.

Kenny will be in conversation with BBC Berkshire's rugby reporter Graham McKechnie.

Kenny will be signing copies of his book which will be on sale at the theatre.
