Noel Coward's
BLITHE SPIRIT

Thu 21 May 2009 - Sat 27 Jun 2009

"Excellent ensemble playing." Oxford Times

"Sprightly, elegant revival." What's On Stage ***

When Charles and Ruth Condomine invite local medium, Madam Arcati to supper they get far more than they bargained for. Hoping to gain some insight into the world of the 'psychic imposter' for his latest novel and provide some entertainment for their deeply sceptical guests, the couple are delighted when the lights are dimmed and Arcati falls into a trance. It soon appears however that the briskly fantastic and madly sincere medium has inadvertently summoned up the spirit of Charles' first wife Elvira. The first Mrs Condomine has returned after death to make herself scandalously at home in her husband's pleasant country house and now she's here she intends to cause as much mischief as possible.
