The Queen of Latin & Ballroom and head judge on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, Shirley Ballas, is coming to the Watermill for a very special fundraising event, in collaboration with Hungerford Book Shop.

Taking to the stage in the unique and intimate setting of the Watermill, In conversation with Shirley Ballas will give audiences a one-off opportunity to get up-close with the dancing legend, as she celebrates the release of her new book Dance to the Death.

Shirley will delve into her inspiration for the drama behind the sequins of her brand-new book, as dancers-turned-detectives Lily Richmond and Susie Cooper’s hopes for a peaceful Christmas soon disappear. A body is found backstage at the Royal Albert Hall and the victim is a trust fund debutante set to be the new star of the ballroom dancing world. Around every corner lurk more suspects, and every clue throws up more questions.

Shirley is one of the most renowned dancers in the world. Originally from Wallasey, Shirley has been dancing since the age of 7. She is 3-time ‘British Open to the World’ Latin American Champion, 10-time US Latin American Champion, and multiple-times British National Champion. Dance to the Death is the second in The Sequin Mysteries series, written by Shirley Ballas and Sheila McClure.

All of the Watermill income from this event will be treated as a donation – thank for your continuing support as we move forward as an independent charity.

After the event, Shirley will be signing books in the Lily Pond
