The former chairman of Christie’s will talk about his early working life in London and New York and his move to Hungerford with a growing family.
Depicted in his two books An Auctioneer’s Lot and On the Move, he will illustrate, with anecdotes throughout, houses and auctions in London, Monte Carlo and New York, almost all with connections to Newbury or Hungerford. Lord Hindlip will also talk about some of his favourite works of art, travel and property successes and failures.
Copies of both books will be available to buy during the evening in the bar and will be signed by Lord Hindlip.
He has kindly donated one of his watercolour paintings to be auctioned with proceeds raised going to The Watermill Theatre, an arts charity.
