Most people know of Alvin Stardust but for the first time in his fifty years in music, Alvin has formed a jazz quartet along with Tony award-winning musical director Sarah Travis, in creating a style that combines his love of the very early routes of rock n' roll and his passion for real jazz.
"I grew up with a complete mix of music from Sinatra, Peggy Lee and Ross, to the big bands like Billy May and Basie, with influences such as Elvis, Ray Charles, Buddy Holly, Jimmy Hendrix and The Beatles, alongside blues and modern jazz. This is a chance for just me and a bunch of fine jazz musicians to jam around some of my favourite songs."
